Technology needs trust.
Technology keeps evolving, but the foundation of democracy is still trust. This year’s E-Vote-ID 2025 in France brought together researchers, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world to explore the fast-evolving landscape of election technology — from cryptographic protocols and legal frameworks to real-world deployments. One message stood out: trust in elections depends on people, technology, and governance working in harmony.
P4I was proud to take part and came away with three key takeaways:
💡 Voter Identification & Credential Security – Even the most advanced voting systems are only as strong as their voter authentication.
💡 Usability Shapes Security – Tools that protect voters only work if people understand and trust them. The human side of technology is vital to secure elections.
💡 Bridging Research, Policy & Practice – There’s growing momentum to close the gap between research, policy, and operations—and as practitioners we’re eager to help strengthen that dialogue.
Looking forward to seeing everyone again next year in Tallinn!
