Doing Democracy Differently.
Democracy only thrives when people believe in it and when the people fighting for it refuse to give up.
We are Partnerships for Integrity. Six women. 125+ combined years of experience. A new organization built for this moment in the global democratic crisis.
Partnerships and integrity aren't just words to us. They're how we work.
P4I is lean by design. We have no heavy headquarters, no bureaucracy to feed. We operate through a distributed structure so that more resources go directly to the work — and to our partners.
We accompany local partners as they navigate the hardest political and electoral environments in the world. We bring tested technical expertise while respecting local leadership. And we work to leave institutions stronger than we found them — not to create dependency.
We were founded in 2025 in the aftermath of the foreign aid crisis. Not because the sector collapsed, but because we believed it wasn't adapting fast enough — and we wanted to build something different.
Our Work
Two Pillars. Three Lenses. One Commitment.
We work across traditional silos — because the challenges facing democracy don't fit neatly into categories. Neither do we.
Democratic Governance
Strong, accountable institutions are the bedrock of democracy. We partner with electoral authorities, parliaments, courts, oversight bodies, and local governments — helping them lead with integrity, deliver transparently, and act with independence. Most importantly, we help bridge the gap between people and the institutions meant to serve them.
Inclusive Governance
We embed inclusion at every level: in legal frameworks, in institutional practice, and in the capacity of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities to claim their rightful place in civic life.
Democratic Culture
Legal frameworks are not enough. People inside and outside government need to believe democracy can work — and behave accordingly. We nurture democratic values within and beyond institutions, putting people at the center of civic life and making sure underrepresented communities have the tools and confidence to shape it.
Technology & Democracy
We harness digital tools to enhance transparency and participation — while building the safeguards needed to counter AI-driven threats, disinformation, and foreign interference.
Democracy & Peacebuilding
Democracy and peace are not separate destinations — they are the same journey. We work at this intersection, breaking down silos between democracy support and peacebuilding to build the trust that both require.
Built to Work Differently
The way development is funded, structured, and understood is shifting fast. We left our previous roles because we felt the sector wasn't adapting quickly enough — and we wanted to build the alternative ourselves.
Genuine Partnership
We refuse to extract value from local knowledge while delivering credit and resources to international actors. We co-design, share resources equitably, and transfer skills and networks.Across the Silos
Elections, anti-corruption, and peacebuilding are often treated as separate fields. We build the connective tissue that links them — and that links institutions to the communities they serve.
Close to the Front Lines
At a time when many organizations have pulled back from grassroots engagement, we've deliberately stayed close. We believe in doing the hard work alongside our partners — not from a distance.
A Global Network Built on Trust
P4I works alongside a global group of strategic advisers — activists, judges, election commissioners, civil society leaders — many of whom chose to join us because of relationships and trust built over years in the field. That trust is not incidental to our model. It is our model.
Our partnerships span West Africa, South and Southeast Asia, the Pacific, Eastern Europe, the Caribbean, the Middle East, and beyond.
